Note: Federal’s .410 “Handgun” Ammunition

This ammunition has the same structure and dimensions as other industry standard 2 ½” & 3” .410 shotshells.

Though these rounds have been optimized for use in .45 Colt/.410 handguns, they are safe to fire in dedicated

.410 shotguns. This includes models fitted with full chokes.

FAQ: If this is a site about .410 handguns, why do you post results for shotguns?

If you have been involved with the Single Action Shooting Society, or other Cowboy re-enactment events, then it’s likely you’ve seen one of Stoeger’s

Coach Guns in action. Though shooters are familiar with this gun, they may not know that Stoeger offers a .410 model as part of their A-Grade lineup. An important reason for including this gun in these tests is to see how a full choke effects shot patterns.

This gun was tested with loads marketed for self-defensive using Birchwood Casey 12” x 18” Silhouette targets.
